140 Color Names

Why use color names? Simply because they are easier to remember than the hex codes!

For example ... "#4682B4" is the same color as "SteelBlue"

What??? Yes... I know there's only 138 little squares there. Two of the color names are duplicates! You'll find them when you click on them! *smile*

TO USE MY COLOR SELECTOR

Simply click on the color of your choice!

This will take you to a page showing your chosen color as:

Background
Shown with black, white and multicolored text.

Text
Shown on a small selection of different colored backgrounds, with accompanying color name, hex number and RGB values.

This color palette does not use Javascript, so when you click on the color of your choice, it will take a few seconds to load the color page ... then, if you scroll up or down, you will also see a selection of five other related colors.

COLOR NAMES

Always use quotation marks when specifying a color name.

Eg: <font color="CornflowerBlue">

IMPORTANT NOTE

Most of these colors are not within the Browser Safe Color Palette.

If you specify a colorname, and the visitors browser is not able to recognise it.. then you can get really "weird" unpredictable results! ... It is always safest to use a Browser Safe Color!
