The Red Hat Dames Down Under was South Australia's/Adelaide's first chapter, formed in July 2004. Since then several have formed in both Adelaide and country areas. We enjoy ourselves in the spirit of Red Hatting - fun, friendship and frivoloty.

Our chapter began with a group of ladies from my classes of Patchwork & Quilting. Since then we have had a few more come. Most of them are still in fulltime work, many teachers, dental assistants, a cook, ... from all aspects of life actually. Several are retired. Our hatters range in age from 28 - 70 at this stage. Most of our functions revolve around food ... funny about that!!!Several of us have really embraced the "dressing up". We have lots of red & purple combinations for every occasion. We receive a positive response where ever we go, especially from young women ... late teens & under 30"s. The more quiet ones in the group are starting to get right into it also.
