 WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN & WHY?
In case you were wondering what the answers to these five questions would be... well... here you go!
WHO?
My name is Anne Ramsden, though I am often called Annabella. I'm an Aussie, married to an Englishman, and we have lived in Rockingham since 1976. We have a daughter, a son, and two cocker spaniels.
This is my own personal project. I am not affiliated with the Rockingham City Council, the Rockingham Visitors Centre or any of the businesses listed on these pages.
I am not employed in the tourism industry, nor am I a computer specialist. I am a medical scientist and work in a major hospital in Perth.
However, one of my many hobbies is web page writing. I have my own domain, www.annabella.net and that domain hosts several sub-sites that I have also created - including very popular HTML Tutorials, three separate Bellydancing sites and even more besides!
Amongst other things...
WHAT?
The purpose of this website is simply to provide helpful information - to people thinking of holidaying in Rockingham or moving into the area, and even to local residents!
It's main direction is the provision of tourism related information, but I have also decided to include a community section which provides free webpages for local clubs, community groups and non-profit organisations.
WHERE?
This site is for Rockingham information only. I wanted to create a web presence that was specifically confined to the areas covered by the City of Rockingham only.
OK. I have bent my own rules a teeny bit - there are a few listings here for Madora Bay. Technically they are not in my defined area of coverage, but... well... I decided that Madora Bay was close enough and small enough to come under our umbrella!
This website is very highly ranked in all the major search engines when searching for Rockingham. It can appear as several different URL's, tho they all point to this same site, or re-direct to it. The alternate URL's are:

WHEN?
This site began in January 1997.
Originally, the web address was www.annabella.net/rockingham.html but in November 2005 I registered a new domain name for it - www.rockingham-tourism.com
From January 1997 till November 2005, all page listings on this site were provided free of charge to everyone. However, from 1st January 2006, it will cost businesses $50 per year to have a page listing on this site.
Clubs, community groups and non-profit organisations however, still can have a full page listing for free!
WHY?
Because when I first connected to the internet in 1996, I could not find any information about Rockingham. So, I decided to put some out there!
I had just begun my journey into the world of webpage writing. I wanted to make a webpage, but realised that I did not know what I wanted to tell the world. Rockingham seemed the logical place to start!
Since then, I have also created several other websites - almost all of them providing free information, help, advice or instruction. Why? Because it pleases me to do so. I like to help folks out where I can.
